January 22, 2015 Amarillo Snowstorm
A large, potent, positive-tilted trough rolled from the 4 corners area over the panhandles, providing adequate lift over a moist post-frontal area in the panhandles. A very heavy mesoscale band of snow, dumping up to 4" per hour at times, sat over I-40 and around the Amarillo area. In total, up to 13" of snow fell in this area during the very early hours of the 22nd.

My home (1 mile north of Lake Tanglewood) covered in about a foot of snow with drifts close to 3 feet.
