South of Claude, looking back northwest at a nubby funnel that developed.

  • Initiation of our cold core day in the panhandle.
  • Our first storm, with it's small base, SW of Dumas. This would be the first big storm of the day.
  • The storm was really corkscrewing away. The inflow was rapid, but it couldn't do anything.
  • We bailed west towards a nice storm on radar near Hartley. The base looked awesome with a wall cloud on the right side.
  • The storm had a nice LP appearance, but just couldn't get going at the base.
  • Nice LP supercell complete with a small beaver tail off to the northeast.
  • This was an anti-cyclonic on the severe warmed storm that we were originally on.
  • We bailed on that storm to get south. Our Dumas storm as seen from the Sanford Dam over Lake Meredith.
  • South of Claude, looking back northwest at a nubby funnel that developed.
  • The CG barrage was intense.
  • Went home after this. Not bad for a day where my expectations were low.
