April 24, 2015 - Central KS Tornadoes

I couldn't decide on targets for this day. Central KS had a nice warm front, but questionable moisture. North TX had the moisture, but early convection looked to wash out the setup. So, I chose to gamble on the warm front. Big risk, big reward. We got on the storm northeast of Hays right as it went tornado warned. We saw 2 tornadoes for sure.After the storm started to become surrounded by other precip, we bailed south and east to catch the amazing shelf cloud southwest of Salina.
