Mid afternoon near Clayton, NM.

  • Mid afternoon near Clayton, NM.
  • Highway 412 is a very clean, smooth road from Clayton to Springer, NM.
  • Storms fire to our north, but we stay south and start heading west towards Springer.
  • A small mesocyclone appears to our north.
  • The base was shrinking on that storm as we continued west.
  • Our storm to the west, not looking too organized.
  • As the sun begins to lower, the storm loses it's instability, and begins to gust out.
  • About as good as our storm looked. We called it a day soon after and headed towards Raton for dinner, and prepare for our overnight trip to North Dakota.
  • Sunset near Raton, NM.
